Mushroom farms in Southeastern Pennsylvania are owned and operated by families. Farms are multi-generational – mom and pop farms passed down to sons and daughters, nephews and cousins. In many cases, the current owners are third or fourth generation farmers. We highlight some of the family farms on this site. Campbell’s Soup Co. and Ralston Purina owned mushroom farms in the past but they no longer own or grow mushrooms. There are no factory farms in the area.
